Why Self-Onboarding?
Self-Onboarding removes the need to wait for manual account activation. By completing the guided setup process, your router is connected, configured, and your XenFi account is activated automatically, allowing you to start managing your hotspot network right away.
Setting up a hotspot network should be simple, fast, and hassle-free. That's why XenFi now offers Self-Onboarding, a guided setup experience that allows you to connect your MikroTik router, configure your network, and activate your account in just a few steps.
Instead of waiting for manual account activation, you can now complete the setup yourself and start using XenFi's hotspot management features immediately.
The onboarding process is divided into three simple stages:
Add Router – Register your MikroTik router with XenFi.
Setup & Connect – Install secure remote access and configure your router.
Go Live – Complete the setup and automatically activate your account.
Log in to your XenFi dashboard. From the Self-Onboarding page, click Add Router to register your MikroTik router.
Enter the required router details and save the information. Once your router has been added successfully, you can proceed to the next stage of the onboarding process.
Once your router has been added successfully, click Setup & Connect to begin configuring your MikroTik router.
The first stage of this process is to install Remote Access. XenFi will generate a unique installation script for your router. Copy the script provided and paste it into the Winbox Terminal, then press Enter to execute it.
After the script runs successfully, your router will establish a secure connection with the XenFi platform, allowing XenFi to communicate with and manage your router during the onboarding process.
Once Remote Access has been installed successfully, click Continue to Configuration Method.
You will then be presented with two configuration options:
Automatic Configuration – Recommended for most users. XenFi automatically generates and applies the required router configuration.
Manual Configuration – Suitable for users who prefer to configure their router manually or require a custom setup.
Select your preferred configuration method and continue with the guided setup.
Tip: If you're setting up XenFi for the first time, we recommend using Automatic Configuration. It simplifies the deployment process and helps ensure your router is configured correctly.
Create a bridge and drag and drop the interfaces to the newly created bridge as shown below.
After assigning all required interfaces to the bridge, double-click the Hotspot badge on the bridge to generate the router setup script. Copy the generated command and paste it into the Winbox Terminal.
After linking the interfaces to the bridge, XenFi will display the "You're Live ! " screen, confirming the setup has been done.
