THEY COME IN OVERALLS.THEY LEAVE WITH YOUR ACCESS POINTS

Happening right now: Organized thieves dressed as technicians are walking up to outdoor access points in broad daylight and walking away with them. They look official. They don't rush. By the time anyone asks questions, they're already gone. Outdoor access points at markets, stages, and boda boda stops are prime targets, often mounted in the open and accessible to anyone who appears to belong there. They take both cheap and expensive access points.

THEY COME IN OVERALLS.THEY LEAVE WITH YOUR ACCESS POINTS

Your agent is already your best defence

If you have agents selling vouchers near your hotspot locations, you already have eyes. Ask them to watch — not confront — and to call you immediately if anything looks off. One phone call can save an entire access point.

Tell your agents to watch for:

  • Anyone in overalls or work gear approaching outdoor equipment unannounced.

  • People with tools or bags lingering near mounted hardware.

  • Someone spending longer than normal near cables or brackets.

  • Unfamiliar faces who inspect and leave without taking anything that's scoping.

  • Equipment that looks shifted, loosened, or tampered with.

Boda boda stage? You're already set up

Boda boda stages are natural surveillance hubs; people are always there, they notice strangers, and they stay for long stretches. A simple, informal agreement with someone at the stage costs nothing and could save everything.
