Introduction
As you use XenFi to manage your hotspot business, different charges may become due on your account based on the services you use and the applicable billing structure.
XenFi accounts may handle outstanding charges differently. Depending on your account these amounts may be presented differently. You may see an outstanding invoice or an overdraft, or in some cases, a negative balance on your account.
Understanding what these figures mean makes it easier to keep track of your XenFi billing and know when a payment is required.
In this guide, we'll explain how XenFi charges come about, what outstanding invoices and overdrafts mean, and how to make a payment when an amount becomes due.
1. Know the Charges That Apply to Your Account
Before looking at outstanding invoices or making a payment, it is important to understand the XenFi charges that apply to your account.
You can view these directly from your XenFi dashboard. Navigate to:
Billing → Subscription

Under Subscription, you will find the applicable charges for your account. These may vary depending on the services you subscribe to such as PPPoE, physical vouchers, Agents and Mobile money. We therefore recommend checking this section to understand the charges that apply specifically to your account.
This gives you a clear picture of how your account is billed and makes it easier to understand any amount that may later become due.
2. How Do These Charges Become an Amount Due?
As you use XenFi, applicable service charges are incurred based on the services and transactions processed through the platform. Where payments are processed through an integrated Mobile Money payment method, these charges can be deducted automatically from the funds received.
However, when an integrated Mobile Money payment method is not being used, there may be no available funds from which the applicable charges can be deducted automatically. As a result, the charges accumulate as an amount due on your account.
Depending on the billing arrangement applicable to your account, this amount may be reflected as an overdraft, which may result in a negative balance, or presented as an outstanding invoice that requires payment.
3. How to Know When a Payment Is Due
When there is an amount that needs to be settled, XenFi will indicate this on your account.
For example, you may see an outstanding invoice notification on your dashboard such as:
“You have an outstanding invoice of KSh 150.00. Please pay to ensure uninterrupted service.”
For accounts using an overdraft arrangement, the amount due may instead be reflected through a negative account balance.
When you notice either of these, you can review your billing information and proceed to make a payment.
4.How to Make a Payment on XenFi
Once you have reviewed your outstanding charges and are ready to make a payment, you can do so directly from your XenFi dashboard.
Navigate to:
Billing → Payments → Make Payment

Enter the amount you wish to pay, then select your preferred payment method. The steps that follow will depend on the payment method you choose:
Mobile Money: Select Mobile Money and enter your mobile number. You will receive a payment prompt on your phone. Enter your Mobile Money PIN to authorize and complete the transaction.
Card: Select the card payment option and proceed. You will be redirected to the checkout page, where you can enter your card details and complete the payment securely.
Bank: Select the bank payment option to view the XenFi bank details required to make the transfer. After making the transfer, enter the bank reference or transaction ID, then select Confirm Payment.
Once the payment has been successfully completed and confirmed, it will be reflected on your XenFi account.
Tip: Always ensure that the payment amount and details are correct before confirming the transaction.
5. Keep Track of Your XenFi Billing
Regularly checking your Billing → Subscription section helps you understand the charges applicable to your account, while Billing → Payments allows you to keep track of and settle amounts that become due.
Keeping your billing up to date helps ensure continued access to XenFi services and prevents outstanding charges from accumulating.
Conclusion
XenFi makes it easy to understand the charges applicable to your account and settle any outstanding amounts when they become due. Whether an amount is presented as an outstanding invoice or reflected through an overdraft, you can review your billing information and make a payment directly from your XenFi dashboard.
